The Lebron Canoe Launch is a difficult access to use due to the frequent deposition of sediment on the launch.  However, parking is ample.  Access to this launch and camping for paddlers is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY with Living River, which you can contact at (205) 208-0035.

+River Segment - 2.9 miles

This relatively short section of the Cahaba River is bounded on the left entirely bank by the Living River Retreat and on the right bank by the Shelby County Cahaba River Park until you reach Shades Creek, which enters the Cahaba from the right at mile 1.8. Conservation organizations are focused on protecting and restoring this part of the Cahaba River because it is home to significant freshwater mussel and snail diversity and there are a number of species of conservation concern here. In 2005, several conservation organizationspartnered to remove the "Marvel Slab," which had been a barrier to movement of these species. For more information about this project see the information kiosk located at the Williams Access at Living River.
