Canoe Beach is a wonderful natural access point that features a low, sandy beach that is a popular site for refuge visitors to not only get their feet wet in the river but to soak in the beautiful sights and sounds of this unique place.  This access offers limited parking along River Terrace Road.  Keep in mind that parking and driving along the road can be difficult on peak visitation days.

+River Segment - 0.7 miles

Canoe Beach offers one of the shortest floats on the Cahaba River at .7 miles to the take-out at Caffee Creek. However, this sections warrants taking your time as you navigate through rocky shoals with abundant aquatic plants and wildlife in the heart of the Cahaba River National Wildlife Refuge. In many places, you will want to stop and get out to explore around a bit. Take care, though, to not slip on moss covered rocks, and please leave all plants and animals as you found them.
